Symphony No. 38 in D, Prague – Mozart

Our soloist is young violinist Rose Hsien who has performed in major concert halls around the world, including the Dvořák Hall of the famous Rudolfinum in Prague!  She will play both a Concerto (No 3) by Mozart and the delightful Romance for Violin and Orchestra by Dvořák.

We open the concert with the Czech Suite in D by Dvořák, the five movements of which include some typical Czech music such as a ‘furiant’ – a fiery Bohemian dance.

6.30pm – 7.00pm: Pre-concert talk in the auditorium

7.00pm – 7.20pm: Pre-concert interlude in the Octagon Lounge by local music pupils
